The Village Arboretum

Beside The Greens at Arboretum lies a 35-acre park maintained by the Village of Pinehurst. Landscape architect Larry Best, founder of LandDesign, designed it as a rebirth of Frederick Law Olmsted’s 1895 plan for Pinehurst, and the Village Heritage Foundation has developed it since 2003.

Trails wind through six gardens and connect to the Village greenway:

  • Longleaf Pine Savannah
  • Joyce’s Meadow
  • The Magnolia Garden
  • The Pollinator Garden
  • The Flowering Tree Garden
  • The Woodland Garden

The Village Arboretum is a public park owned and maintained by the Village of Pinehurst.

Life in the Village of Pinehurst

Pinehurst has kept its New England village plan for more than a century: winding streets, shaded greens, and a walkable center of shops, cafés, and restaurants.

Golf is part of daily life here. Pinehurst Resort and its famous No. 2 course are minutes away, and dozens more courses lie within a short drive across Moore County. Southern Pines, Aberdeen, and the horse country around them round out the Sandhills.
